Zarak share bought by Martin Schwartz for €380,000 via Arqana Online
A share in Almanzor went to Ecurie Vivaldi for €160,000
Oceanic Bloodstock secured a 1/50th share in the exciting freshman stallion Zarak for €380,000 on behalf of leading Transatlantic breeder Martin Schwartz to top a short but sweet sale of breeding rights via Arqana Online on Thursday afternoon.
Zarak, the impeccably bred Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud winner, has caught even more eyes with the results from his maiden season, which has featured 18 winners, a Group 3 in Germany, and high-class Group 1 places from Purplepay and Times Square. His fee at Haras de Bonneval has correspondingly rocketed from €12,000 to €25,000.
A share of the same size in European champion Almanzor was the other obvious standout among the four lots and this was bought by Ecurie Vivaldi for €160,000.
The buyer is a syndicate set up by Didier Krainc four years ago for a group of friends and associates and acquires stallion rights along with a variety of other stock. Haras D'Etreham's shuttler Almanzor, priced at €30,000 for 2022, has had eight winners from his first season.
Pegase Bloodstock secured a breeding right for Territories for €26,000 on behalf of Guillaume de Saint Seine while a 1/50th share in Dariyan went to Hyperion SARL for €21,000.
