'You can’t beat owning one of the first foals by the phenomenal Stradivarius'
Micro-share ownership group MyRacehorse links with National Stud in new venture
Micro-share ownership group MyRacehorse is teaming up with the National Stud and its new recruit Stradivarius to offer fans an opportunity to be involved in a breeding syndicate with the legendary stayer.
In partnership with the Newmarket stud, MyRacehorse purchased the winning Dark Angel filly Blackbird Power at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale for 15,000gns from Whatton Manor Stud.
From the family of Group 3 winner Entifaadha, the three-year-old will be covered by seven-time Group 1 winner Stradivarius this coming breeding season and shares in the mare and resulting foal will be sold before both head to auction at the end of 2024.
Trained by John and Thady Gosden for owner-breeder Bjorn Nielsen, Stradivarius become one of the best and most loved stayers of his generation, winning a record-breaking 18 European Group races during his seven seasons in training.
Among his big-race haul were four Goodwood Cups, three Gold Cups and three Lonsdale Cups. He earned prize-money of nearly £3.5 million, as well as an extra £2m via the Weatherbys Hamilton Stayers' Bonus.
The son of Sea The Stars has been introduced to breeders at a fee of £10,000 for the 2023 season.
Jules Pittam, managing partner of MyRacehorse UK and Ireland, said: "When the National Stud approached us with this idea, we knew we had to be a part of it. We promise our owners top racehorses and unique experiences, and you really can’t beat owning one of the first foals by the phenomenal Stradivarius.
"Add in the fact that owners will have ample opportunity to visit the National Stud and see not only their foal but Stradivarius as well, and you have a real once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Anna Kerr, CEO of the National Stud, added: “Our partnership with MyRacehorse gives racing fans an opportunity to experience horseracing ownership in a totally different way.
"Stradivarius is a modern racing icon, and the opportunity to be a part of his stud career will enable those involved to build a deep connection with one of the most popular Flat horses in recent memory.
"We are looking forward to welcoming owners to the next chapter of Stradivarius’ story and look forward to this syndicate providing MyRacehorse owners with a truly unique experience."
