The catalogue for the Goffs UK August Sale has been released, an auction which will offer 261 lots including through a new National Hunt two-year-old session.

Taking place at Doncaster on August 3, the sale has long been a summer source of horses-in-training, point-to-pointers and stores and this year it will also have specific sections for National Hunt broodmares and two-year-olds.

Sires who will have two-year-olds on offer include the likes of Blue Bresil, Dartmouth, Diamond Boy, Doctor Dino, Doyen, Falco, Gentlewave, Getaway, Great Pretender, Jack Hobbs, Jeu St Eloi, Linda’s Lad, Mahsoob, Mondialiste, Montmartre, No Risk At All, Pether’s Moon, Pillar Coral, Sea The Moon, Schiaparelli, Walzertakt and Yeats.

The mare section has been equally well supported and the likely star lot is Grade 2 Yorkshire Rose Mares' Hurdle winner Miss Heritage (lot 166), who is offered in-foal to Derby-winning sire Nathaniel. Other mares include those in-foal to Bangkok, Jack Hobbs and Walzertakt.

The day will start with horses-in-training and pointers and these include Michael Goff's Some Scope (74), a son of Telescope who struck on his point debut at Tralee in May; Denis Murphy's Fortuitous Find (76), a Shirocco gelding who won his most recent start at Tralee by 17 lengths; Colin McKeever's Ballybentragh (79), a winning son of Fame And Glory at Broughshane; and Montmartre Abbey (81), a son of Montmartre and a debut winner at Tralee who will be offered by Colin Bowe.

Others include Cokoriko's D'last Spez (95), also offered by Bowe and a ten-length winner at Inchydoney; Michael Goff's Kaituna River (100), an Ask gelding who was a six-length winner on debut at Dromahane; Sam Curling's Presenting gelding Townhill (101), a 20-length debut winner at Lougrea; and Aidan Fitzgerald's Tara Line (111), by Kayf Tara and a ready winner of her most recent start at Largy.

The sale finishes with its traditional store session, with three-year-olds by Affinisea, Champs Elysees, Cokoriko, Dartmouth, Juke Box Jury, Kayf Tara, Mahler, Malinas, Ocovango, Pour Moi, Westerner and Walk In The Park on offer.

Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said: "We are always looking for ways to add to our service and it’s in that spirit that we launch the August Sale’s new National Hunt two-year-old session in support of the new junior hurdle races.

"The new section fits seamlessly into the August Sale, which is an established midsummer event, and, along with the Yorton Sale on September 8, we now have two sales offering National Hunt two-year-olds."

He added: “The mare session has also attracted a good number of entries which are headed by the top-class hurdler Miss Heritage, who is sure to generate a lot of interest.

"Couple that with horses-in-training, stores and some high-class UK and Irish pointers, many of which have won their debut outings, there is plenty of quality at this sale and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Doncaster on Wednesday, August 3.”
