Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale moved to Newmarket
Covid-related travel restrictions are still in place in Ireland
The Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale will now take place at Park Paddocks in Newmarket.
Due to be held from June 1-3, the sale's location has been changed due to the prevailing Covid-related travel restrictions in Ireland. The auction also took place at Park Paddocks last year.
Among the sale's graduates to currently be flying the flag is John and Thady Gosden's recent Lincoln winner Haqeeqy, who looks set to step up into Group company this term.
Tattersalls Ireland CEO Simon Kerins said on Monday: "The decision to relocate the Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale reflects our commitment to providing the most vibrant marketplace possible for our breeze-up vendors and we believe this option delivers the best chance of achieving that goal.
"We're extremely fortunate to have the option to relocate to Europe’s premier bloodstock sales venue in Tattersalls and we're very grateful to the teams at both Tattersalls and Newmarket racecourse for again accommodating the sale.”
Brendan Holland of Grove Stud said: “I’m glad Tattersalls Ireland have addressed the uncertainty of the sale early, which gives everyone a chance to reorganise themselves and hopefully it makes it easier for everyone to attend the sale in these difficult times. I'm sure it will continue to be a success, it's always one of my favourite sales of the year.”
Richard Brown of Blandford Bloodstock added: “The Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale has been a happy hunting ground for Blandford Bloodstock. We've bought plenty of winners from the sale for clients over the years, most notably Group 3 winner With Thanks, Listed winner Maystar and most recently the Lincoln winner Haqeeqy. The team look forward to returning to the sale in 2021.”
