Group 3-winning sprinter Swiss Spirit has been relocated to stand the 2019 breeding season at Batsford Stud in Gloucestershire, where he will stand for a reduced fee of £3,000 .

The son of Invincible Spirit is now owned solely by Lordship Stud, who bought out previous partner Whitsbury Manor Stud, where the stallion had stood the last five seasons.

Now nine, Swiss Spirit was trained by David Elsworth to win a Group 3 and Listed race over five and six furlongs respectively, defeating subsequent July Cup winner Lethal Force, who now stands at Cheveley Park Stud, on the latter occasion.

Swiss Spirit also hails from a black-type family being out of dual Listed winner Swiss Lake, whose progeny include dual Group 3 winner Swiss Diva, the dam of a juvenile Listed winner Poetry, and multiple stakes winner Swiss Dream, the dam of Group 3 Hungerford Stakes winner Yafta.

"We are delighted that Swiss Spirit will be standing in Britain at such a well-regarded stud, and we will continue to support him," said owner-breeders Trevor and Elizabeth Harris.

"With proven speed, precocity and soundness, we believe he represents great value for smaller breeders."

Batsford Stud’s Alan Varey added: “We are thrilled to have been selected to stand Swiss Spirit on behalf of Lordship Stud. I have always wanted to stand an out-and-out sprinter and Swiss Spirit certainly ticks all the boxes.

"He is very correct horse with plenty of bone. We have had a long-standing relationship with Trevor and Elizabeth Harris as, of course, we stand Native Ruler on their behalf."
