Kodiac's son Coulsty to switch to Norman Court Stud from Rathasker

Norman Court Stud have announced that Coulsty will be joining their stallion roster for the 2019 breeding season.

The son of Kodiac had stood his first two seasons at Rathasker Stud in Ireland for a fee of €5,000, and will transfer to the Salisbury outfit to stand for £4,000.

Having been trained by Richard Hannon during his career on the track, Coulsty retired the winner of three stakes races, the pick of those being the Group 3 Prix de Meautry over six furlongs at Deauville.

Meanwhile, Norman Court Stud’s other stallion, Sixties Icon, will see his fee increase to £6,000 having stood the previous three seasons at £5,000.

"Coulsty is a typical son of Kodiac in that he was talented and precocious, and like his father he only sires bay foals,” said Maurice Burns of Rathaker Stud.

"Rathasker have a number of very good foals by Coulsty that will be going to all the major yearling sales in 2019. I think this horse will really suit British breeders.

"Norman Court do a great job with Sixties Icon and I think the two horses will complement each other."

Norman Court Stud’s Tina Dawson added: "We’re thrilled Maurice approached us about standing this horse.

"I’ve always liked him. He’s a typical gutsy, genuine, honest sprinter and at £4,000 he represents real value."
