The physical sales may be done for this year but there is still time for buyers to pick up their next star broodmare or breeding right in a stallion as the Tattersalls Online December Sale gets under way on Wednesday.

Bidding opens at 11.58am and there are 87 lots counted before withdrawals, entries ranging from breeding rights, broodmares and horses in training under both codes, as well as wildcards including a number of point-to-pointers.

The breeding rights include stallions such as first-season stars Havana Grey and Cracksman as well as established proven sires like Territories, Ribchester and Profitable. There is also a 1/50th share in European champion and Group 1-winning sire Almanzor.

Among the mares in foal are Higher Eastington Stables' Sophie (lot 85), a Farhh half-sister to 1,000 Guineas heroine Cachet in foal to Aclaim; Hobby Horse Stud's Casuarina (17), a Sea The Moon full-sister to Caulfield Cup hero Durston who is carrying to Study Of Man; and Blue Diamond Stud's Latiffa (2), an unraced Kingman mare from the family of Aljazzi who has been covered by Decorated Knight.

Wildcard pointers were added to the sale on Monday, among them Milestone Stables' Clody Flyer, an impressive winner of a five-year-old geldings' maiden at Borris House (56) and a Sholokhov relation to Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase winner Nil Desperandum.

Another lot from the pointing field is Paul Gilligan’s Lincoln Burrows (50). The son of Dylan Thomas was third at Quakerstown behind subsequent Tattersalls Cheltenham December sale-topper What's Up Darling, a £280,000 purchase by Gordon Elliott last Friday.

Horses in training include lots from yards such as Richard Fahey, Rebecca Menzies, Gordon Elliott, Archie Watson and William Haggas, while consignors include Jamie Railton, Voute Sales, Mickley Stud and Barton Sales.

Details of all lots can be found at www.tattersallsonline.com.
