Soft Whisper enhances Classic claims with strike in UAE 1,000 Guineas Trial
The daughter of Dubawi struck twice in nursery company last year
The Saeed Bin Suroor-trained Soft Whisper continued her progressive form from last year and in landing Meydan's UAE 1,000 Guineas Trial on Thursday earned quotes of 25-1 for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas in May.
A Godolphin homebred, the daughter of Dubawi was making it three wins from five starts and may step up in grade on her next appearance.
The three-year-old holds a useful pedigree too, being the third foal out of Placidia, a winning daughter of Sea The Stars and a half-sister to multiple Group 2 scorer and Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud runner-up Policy Maker.
Placidia is also related to Pushkin, a son of Caerleon who struck in the Group 2 Prix Maurice de Nieuil and was second in the Group 1 Prix du Cadran, plus Place Rouge, a five-length winner of the Lancashire Oaks for John Gosden.
Placidia's dam, Palmeraie, is herself related to French Group 3 victor Parme and the stakes-placed Chateau Royal.
Soft Whisper, who lead home a one-two-three for Godolphin and Bin Suroor in the seven-furlong conditions race, was second to subsequent Prestige Stakes runner-up Prado on her debut at Salisbury last July and followed up another second when readily scoring at Salisbury on her nursery debut.
She then finished her juvenile campaign with a four-length strike at Pontefract in July, with the useful Spirit Of Bermuda in behind.
