Siblings to black type winners and performers headline Sapphire Sale catalogue
Among the yearlings are full or half-relations to Santosha and Easton Angel
The inaugural Tattersalls Ireland Sapphire Sale catalogue is now online, with a quality selection of 200 foals, yearlings and breeding stock set to go under the hammer from 10.30am on Saturday, November 12.
It is the final yearling sale of the year in Ireland and all yearlings are eligible for the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes, which takes place at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend.
Among the choice yearlings on offer include Paddy Murray's Coulsty full-brother to Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes scorer Santosha (lot 8); Browne Brothers Bloodstock's Calyx half-sister to dual stakes winner and Queen Mary second Easton Angel (20); Kildallan Farm's Pearl Secret half-sister to black type winner Tilly's Chilli (16) and Ballybin Stud's French Navy half-sister to Coventry Stakes runner-up Eldrickjones (50).
Moreover, 70 of the 88 yearlings catalogued are out of winners or are siblings to winners, while 24 yearlings have black type in the first dam.
Sires with yearlings catalogued include Acclamation, Bated Breath, Calyx, Churchill, Cotai Glory, Dandy Man, Footstepsinthesand, Highland Reel, Magna Grecia, Make Believe, Mehmas, Phoenix of Spain, Profitable, Saxon Warrior, Soldier’s Call, Ten Sovereigns, Time Test, US Navy Flag and Zoffany.
A selection of the foals set to sell include Gurteen Stud's Kuroshio colt out of a half-sister to Group 2 York Stakes and Sandown Mile winner Tullius (90); Vinesgrove Stud’s Shaman filly whose granddam is Nassau Stakes winner Favourable Terms (106); and Boherguy Stud’s Belardo colt out of Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed Mandinga (155).
The sale concludes with a section that includes 23 winning mares or producers of winners. The broodmare sires are a who's who of proven stallions such as Acclamation, Camelot, Danehill Dancer, Dansili, Iffraaj, Kodiac, Make Believe, Montjeu, New Approach, Oasis Dream, Pivotal, Street Cry and Teofilo.
