High Definition heads Coolmore quartet of wildcards for Tattersalls HIT Sale
Group-class Wordsworth, Aikhal and New York City complete the four
A quartet of high-class performers from Coolmore are among the 11 wildcards for next week's Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, headed by Beresford Stakes winner and this term's Tattersalls Gold Cup second High Definition.
The son of Galileo and the Listed-winning Fastnet Rock mare Palace, also a winner on debut at two for Aidan O'Brien, will be offered as lot 754A and will be joined by Grand Prix de Paris second and Irish Derby third Wordsworth, a full-brother to St Leger hero Kew Gardens and who will be sold as lot 754C.
The two remaining horses from Coolmore are this year's Group 3 International Stakes scorer Aikhal (754B), another son of Galileo and out of a Group-winning Fastnet Rock half-sister to Irish Derby hero Latrobe; and New York City (754D), a full-brother to Group-winning sprinter and exciting young sire Invincible Army.
New York City has won twice for O'Brien, including this season's Listed Committed Stakes, while he was also fourth in the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh to the brilliant Highfield Princess.
Wednesday's Listed Prix Vulcain scorer Surrey Mist will appear as lot 754F. The three-year-old son of Kendargent won the Deauville race by four lengths for trainer Kevin Philippart De Foy and is from the family of Grade 1 winner Alterite.
Andy Oliver’s Stragrane House Stables offers Group 3-winning sprinter The Highway Rat as lot 754E, with the four-year-old son of Dandy Man having struck at Dundalk on his most recent start.
The Sheikh Obaid Al Maktoum-owned Finest Sound, second in the Group 1 Jebel Hatta at Meydan in March and a fine third to Modern Games in the Woodbine Mile, will be sold by Godolphin as lot 1001A.
Completing the wildcards are the Freddie and Martyn Meade-trained Chairman (304A), a progressive son of Almanzor who has won or been placed in six of his seven starts, three-time-winning Havana Gold gelding Space Tracker, consigned by Richard Hughes’ Weathercock House Stables as lot 304B; Tattersalls October Auction and Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes scorer Amichi (1139A) and Juddmonte's Flag Flying (1102A), a son of Starspangledbanner and a four-length scorer on debut.
