Quality Road colt out of Wedding Vow set for Listowel debut on Tuesday
Dam is a full-sister to Serpentine and from the family of Dylan Thomas
Aidan O'Brien's last two winners of Listowel's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden (1.25) include the smart Aikhal, the winner of a Group 3 event on Irish Derby day, and the Ballydoyle maestro saddles another well-related newcomer on Tuesday.
Mohawk Chief is a son of Lane's End Farm's super stallion Quality Road and is the fourth foal out of Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes winner and Nassau Stakes runner-up Wedding Vow, a daughter of the much-missed Galileo.
The ten-year-old Wedding Vow is in turn a full-sister to the 2020 Derby winner Serpentine, as well as to Group 3 Gallinule Stakes scorer Beacon Rock, Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes winner and Oaks third Bye Bye Baby and stakes winner Bound.
They are out of the Danehill Dancer mare Remember When, whose career-best effort came when a fine second to Snow Fairy in the 2010 Oaks.
Remember When is a three-parts sister to the outstanding middle-distance performer Dylan Thomas, the winner of six top-level events including the Irish Derby, King George, Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and two Irish Champion Stakes.
Her other siblings include the influential Cheveley Park Stakes and Lowther Stakes heroine Queen's Logic, the dam and granddam of two further Lowther winners in Lady Of The Desert and Queen Kindly, plus the runaway Newmarket 1,000 Guineas winner Homecoming Queen.
O'Brien saddles another well-bred sort in the twice-raced Frankel colt Boy Scout, bred by St Albans Bloodstock and sold from Newsells Park Stud to MV Magnier for 925,000gns at Tattersalls Book 1. He is out of the Listed-winning Qushchi, making him a half-brother to Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Mrs Sippy.
Other rivals in the 13-strong field include Tiverton, Juddmonte's twice-placed son of Expert Eye from the family of Group 2 winner Daring Miss, and Pearl Of Australia, a son of Australia out of an Oasis Dream half-sister to Matron Stakes heroine Pearls Galore.
