Juddmonte announces retirement of Kentucky Derby winner Mandaloun to US base
Son of Into Mischief won the Kentucky Derby and Haskell Stakes for Brad Cox

Juddmonte has announced the retirement of last year's Kentucky Derby hero Mandaloun, a five-time black type winner who will retire to the operation's American stud in Kentucky.
The son of Into Mischief boasts a typically exceptional Juddmonte pedigree, being out of the Empire Maker mare Brooch, a dual Group winner for Dermot Weld at three and four.
Brooch is in turn a half-sister to two black type performers including dual Listed winner Caponata, while they are out of the stakes scorer Daring Diva, a Dansili full-sister to Matron Stakes winner Emulous and Group winner First Sitting.
Mandaloun earned over $2 million on the track for trainer Brad Cox, with victories in the Kentucky Derby, Haskell Stakes, Risen Star and Louisiana Stakes among his career highlights. The four-year-old was also unbeaten at two.
He will stand for an opening fee of $25,000.
Cox said: "This horse is the entire package, I don't know that I have seen a better looking son of Into Mischief. We knew we had something special right out of the box. He had an exceptional turn of foot yet could carry his speed around two turns."
Garrett O’Rourke, general manager of Juddmonte USA, added: "Mandaloun is a true Juddmonte stallion. He is a gorgeous horse who should offer breeders exceptional value when the time comes to sell their yearlings. We plan to support him in the same manner we did with the likes of Empire Maker and Arrogate."
