Breeders' Cup heroes Accelerate and City Of Light will stand for $20,000 and $35,000 respectively when they join the roster at Lane's End Farm in Kentucky.

The pair will remain in training for the time being, with both horses being lined up for a shot at the Pegasus World Cup in January before embarking on their stallion careers.

Lookin At Lucky's son Accelerate capped a fine 2018 with victory in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs last weekend, his fifth Grade 1 victory of the year.

The five-year-old hails from the Smart Strike sire line and is out of the stakes-placed Issues. He is a half-brother to stakes winners Daddy D T and Amarish and hails from the same female family as Grade 1 winner Wagon Limit and Graded winner Puzzlement.

City Of Light meanwhile, by Lane's End flagbearer Quality Road, won his third elite level contest when taking the Dirt Mile on the same day. He is from the female family of Grade 1-winning millionaires Cacoethes, Subordination and Careless Jewel.

Lane's End Farm also announced on Wednesday that dual Grade 1 winner West Coast, who descends from the A.P. Indy sire line, has been retired and will join the 2019 stallion roster at a fee of $35,000.

West Coast is out of champion two-year-old filly Caressing and bagged more than $5 million (£3.8m/€4.4m) during his 11-start career.

"This is a very exciting crop of new stallions," said Bill Farish. "Accelerate offers breeders a chance to breed to a brilliantly fast, sound, Classic distance-winning champion-elect with five Grade 1 wins under his belt.

"West Coast offers a blue-blooded pedigree, outstanding good looks and is a champion three-year-old that defeated all three Classic winners.

"City Of Light has an unmatched brilliance. We’re looking forward to seeing Accelerate and City Of Light face off in the upcoming Pegasus World Cup and for the 2019 breeding season."
