Kingman trio among a host of well-bred newcomers on Thursday
A look at seven youngsters bred in the purple and set to debut
Gold Souk
2 b c Casamento-Dubai Sunrise (Seeking The Gold)
Gold Souk, a half-brother to Derby runner-up and recent Group 3 Henry II Stakes scorer Dee Ex Bee, lines up in the same 6½f novice stakes won by Expert Eye on debut two years ago. The popular Dee Ex Bee, by Pivotal stallion Farhh, made a winning debut in a 7f maiden at Glorious Goodwood in August of his two-year-old campaign.
Wren
2 b f Raven's Pass-Magical Romance (Barathea)
At 4,600,000gns, the Cheveley Park Stakes scorer Magical Romance was the most expensive lot sold at the 2006 Tattersalls December Mare Sale, when offered in foal to Pivotal, but fate conspired against her when she delivered her foal before the year was out.
She has, however, produced three runners with a Racing Post Rating of 100 or more since then led by Tall Ship, who was runner-up in an Australian Group 2 over 1m4f. Her two-year-old Raven's Pass filly Wren comes up against fellow newcomer Gold Souk on debut.
Frontman
3 b c Kingman-Winter Sunrise (Pivotal)
The leading European second-season sire Kingman has got Frontman, a three-year-old half-brother to Nassau Stakes heroine Winsili, to bat for him in this maiden over an extended mile at Nottingham.
Previous winners of the race include Frankel's half-brother Morpheus, who won the 2013 edition.
Kingslady
3 b f Kingman-Kazeem (Darshaan)
Owner-breeder John Deer will be hoping the latest runner for his fine producer Kazeem can show enough promise to match her best two runners to date, Al Kazeem and Makzeem.
The former was a distinguished performer, particularly over ten furlongs, and is enjoying a much more successful second stint as a stallion at Deer's Oakgrove Stud, while the latter, a three-parts brother to Al Kazeem by Makfi, ran a close fifth in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket last year.
Narak
3 ch f Dubawi-Chachamaidee (Footstepsinthesand)
Up against the Kingman filly Kingslady will be Narak, a Dubawi half-sister to last week's Pinnacle Stakes scorer Klassique out of Chachamaidee, who was awarded the 2012 Matron Stakes in the stewards' room.
Chachamaidee had already opened her account by this stage of her two-year-old campaign.
Summer Romance
2 gr f Kingman-Serena's Storm (Statue Of Liberty)
Two of the last three runnings of this 6f fillies' maiden were won by subsequent Group 1 winners in Pretty Pollyanna and Urban Fox, suggesting it could be worth keeping a close eye on Thursday's four-runner event.
Summer Romance is by sire of the moment Kingman and is a half-sister to the exceptional Iffraaj filly Rizeena, who won the Queen Mary, Moyglare Stud and Coronation Stakes as she developed into one of the best fillies of her generation.
Affected
3 b f Lope De Vega-Manieree (Medicean)
Last but not least is the Lope De Vega filly Affected, a daughter of Blandford Stakes scorer Manieree hailing from the same family nurtured by owner-breeder Maxwell Morris as the 1999 Derby hero Oath and his closely related half-brother Pelder.
Morris will also see his colours carried by this filly, a half-sister to the Listed-winning miler Drumfad Boy.
