The catalogue for the first sale of the year staged at Ascot has been released, with 102 initial entries for the Tattersalls Ascot March Sale on March 31.

Tattersalls Ascot has assembled a mixed sale of Flat and National Hunt horses in and out of training, breeding prospects, point-to-pointers, store horses and two-year-olds.

Leading trainers and owners including Godolphin, Barbury Castle Stables, Bective Stud, Closutton Stables, Cullentra House, Saxon Gate, Kingsley Park, Lodge Hill Stables and Park House Stables all have drafts entered in the sale.

Of the form horses, the Irish Champion Hurdle winner Petit Mouchoir stands out.

The ten-year-old son of Al Namix was last seen finishing fourth in the Grade 3 Limestone Lad Hurdle at Naas in late January, and was second to Belfast Banter in the County Hurdle at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival. He is one of a pair offered by owners Noel and Valerie Moran's Bective Stud.

The Godolphin draft of nine horses includes Angel's Thunder, an unraced three-year-old daughter of Night Of Thunder out of a half-sister to Oaks winner Qualify.

Further entries will be accepted for the sale until March 28, subject to availability. Tattersalls Online Bidding will also be available and anyone wishing to use the service can register here.
