Plenty of racing and sales action at Punchestown on Thursday

The bloodstock world will be zoned in on Punchestown on Thursday for the third day of the end-of-season festival.

As well as the two Grade 1 contests, the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle and the Ryanair Novice Chase, there will be the annual boutique sale in the parade ring after ring, with an interesting trio of lots on offer by Gold Well, the late brother to Montjeu who sired a 1-3 in the Irish Grand National at the beginning at April.

The aptly named Tornado Flyer became a 16th Grade 1 winner over jumps for Flemensfirth when he won the Racing Post Champion Bumper at Punchestown on Wednesday evening.

The five-year-old gelding is out of Mucho Macabi - an Exceed And Excel half-sister to legendary hurdler Hurricane Fly.
