'Racy' Planteur filly tops breeze-up sale at €105,000
Fourth year in the row Haras du Saubouas have consigned the top lot
For the fourth year in a row, the team at Haras du Saubouas were celebrating having provided the top lot at the Osarus Breeze-Up Sale as their daughter of Planteur topped the one-day auction when selling to Saubouas Bloodstock on behalf of a partnership for €105,000 on Wednesday.
Already named Totino Iti Here, the filly is out of the winning Testa Rossa mare Hijaziyah and is a half-sister to the winners The Racer, La Raceuse and Yanling.
Paul Basquin of Haras du Saubouas said: "She is a very racy filly, she seems lovely and precocious. She has been bought by a partnership to go into training with Christophe Ferland, who is based at La Teste."
For much of the session, trade was topped by a daughter of Yeomanstown Stud resident Dark Angel, who was snapped up by Federic Rossi for €90,000. Offered by Ecurie Yann Creff, the filly is out of the unraced Manduro mare Shazana, who is a half-sister to the Aga Khan's dual Group 1 heroine Shareta.
Further back, the family includes the top-flight scorers Shawanda and Encke.
The good spell continued for Ecurie Yann Creff as they were also the consignors of the Rajsaman colt bought by Mandore International and Sylvain Vidal for €75,000 on Wednesday.
Already named Suman, the colt is out of the Pleasant Tap mare Sorpresa and is a half-brother to Sun Chariot Stakes heroine Sahpresa.
Vidal stands the 11-year-old at his Normandy operation Haras de Montfort et Preaux from where he has produced dual Classic hero Brametot, the Group 3 winner Trouble Of Course and Listed scorer Malkoboy.
