Coolmore take half share in Jersey Stakes winner Le Brivido

Coolmore have strengthened their association with Siyouni – one of the hottest sires in the world at the moment – by purchasing a half-share in his high-class son Le Brivido.

The operation has also bought a stake in Aylmerton, a son of Siyouni bred to southern hemisphere time who won the Todman Stakes this month and who contested the prestigious Golden Slipper at Rosehill on Saturday.

Le Brivido remains with Andre Fabre, who sent out the colt to finish a short-head second in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains and to win the Jersey Stakes last year for Prince Faisal Bin Khaled, who retains a half-share.

According to France Galop, Coolmore's stake is divided between Susan Magnier (20 per cent), Mayfair Speculators (12 per cent), Michael Tabor (nine per cent) and Derrick Smith (nine per cent).

Le Brivido has not been seen since his Jersey Stakes victory, but he promises to take high rank in the miling division this year if he returns in the same form that saw him only narrowly headed by Brametot in the French Classic and to come with a sweeping late run to deny Spirit Of Valor at Royal Ascot.

The four-year-old was bred by Jean and Brigitte Bugada out of the Dr Fong mare La Bugatty, a half-sister to Listed winner Dansant.

A €42,000 yearling, he was bought by Ted Voute on behalf of Prince Faisal for €105,000 from the Longways Stables draft at the Arqana Breeze-up Sale in 2016.

Siyouni has risen to become one of Europe's most exciting young sires. His first crop yielded Classic heroine Ervedya and his current three-year-olds include Fillies' Mile heroine Laurens and unbeaten Prix Thomas Bryon scorer Sacred Life.

Already this year he has been represented by Listed winners Barkaa and Sully, as well as the valuable Newcastle handicap winner Straight Right, besides Aylmerton.

Siyouni's fee has soared to €75,000 at Haras de Bonneval for 2018.
