Annshoon Stud adds Koropick and Silver Galaxy to roster

Annshoon Stud has two new stallions for next year's breeding season.

The County Kilkenny Stud will welcome Koropick, a fast son of Kodiac, and Silver Galaxy, a well-bred son of Galileo.

Koropick, trained by Hugo Palmer for Ibrahim Araci, won on his debut and finished second to The Last Lion in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at two last year.

This season he has won the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes and was a creditable second to the brilliant Battaash in the Listed Scurry Stakes.

He was bred by Canice Farrell out of the Fayruz mare Kathoe and hails from the family of Irish 2,000 Guineas hero and sire Jaazeiro.

Silver Galaxy was bred by Newsells Park Stud and is by Europe's perennial champion sire out of the Listed-winning Pivotal mare Silver Pivotal, so bred on the same cross as Group 1 scorers Hydrangea and Rhododendron.

He was trained in Dubai by Musabbeh Al Mheiri and was a Group 3 winner over a mile at Jebel Ali.

Koropick will stand at a fee of €3,000, while Silver Galaxy has been priced at €1,500.

Andy David of WLS Bloodstock oversaw the deals to stand both recruits, and he said: "My client has been looking for a horse who possessed natural speed with the heart to see out his races at a good level.

“Koropick caught our eye when running close to subsequent Prix de l'Abbaye winner Battaash and then went on to collect a Group 3 himself. He's a lovely individual, both physically and in temperament, and ticked all the boxes in what we were looking for.”

David added that Silver Galaxy would be marketed to Flat and jumps breeders.

"He has been brought here on behalf of a consortium of Dubai clients,” he said. “He was tough and genuine and was very consistent up to ten furlongs. The family act on all surfaces and I think he's going to make a lovely dual-purpose sire.”
