Group 3-winning filly Cimeara heads initial Champions Sale entries
The boutique auction will take place before racing at Leopardstown
Goffs has announced the first six lots who will be offered at this year's Champions Sale, which takes place before racing at Leopardstown on Saturday, September 15.
The sextet are headed by the progressive Cimeara, a three-year-old daughter of Vocalised who landed the Group 3 Stanerra Stakes on her penultimate outing before dead-heating in the the Listed Vinnie Roe Stakes.
The Jim Bolger-trained filly, who is from the family of Goldikova, has won four of her seven starts and boasts an official rating of 102.
Joining Cimeara is the Michael O’Callaghan-trained Angelic Light, a daughter of Dark Angel who was last seen winning a 20-runner Curragh maiden on her second outing, where she beat Mary Salome, who will also be offered at the Champions Sale.
The Racing Post analysis of Angelic Light's performance reads: "the winner was impressive and could well be stakes class".
O'Callaghan is also set to consign the twice-raced Carbon Fibre, who finished runner-up behind subsequent Group 3 Round Tower Stakes winner - and leading 2,000 Guineas hopeful - Ten Sovereigns in a Curragh maiden on his most recent start.
The initial entries are completed by four-time winner Dawn Hoofer, a three-year-old daughter of Dawn Approach, and Will Be King, a son of leading freshman sire Charm Spirit who landed a Dundalk barrier trial and finished third in a Bellewstown maiden on his second of two starts.
Last year's Champions Sale was topped by the Listed winner Izzy Bizu, who was signed for by Tom Malone and his daughter Casey at €290,000.
