Gentlemansgame's Blue Bresil half-brother has Doyle excited ahead of Tatts date
The auction offers ten lots including winning pointers from Colin Bowe and Doyle
The Tattersalls Online National Hunt and Point-to-Point Sale may only have ten lots, but there is quality in abundance with interesting sorts offered from Donnchadh Doyle and a number of other leading Irish yards.
Just 12 months earlier, Doyle had hit the headlines when selling a Gentlewave gelding for €250,000 to Mags O'Toole at the online Tattersalls Cheltenham November Mixed Sale.
Gentlemansgame, who struck by five lengths in a Curraghmore four-year-old maiden that October, went on to win his maiden hurdle by 21 lengths for Mouse Morris before three placings in Graded contests, including when second in two Grade 1 events at Leopardstown and Punchestown.
On Thursday, Doyle will offer the high-class hurdler's year younger Blue Bresil sibling in Madmansgame (Lot 3), himself a three-length winner at Boulta this Sunday. But are there any similarities between the talented pair?
The leading handler said: "They are alike, they're two lovely, big grey horses who love soft ground and who won well first time out.
"Hopefully we will see Gentlemansgame over Christmas, I've heard he's in very good form anyway, so hopefully he'll be very exciting over fences. Chasing will be his game."
On the online format of the sale, Doyle added: "It's just the way the weekend works, you'd love to be at Cheltenham with them on a Friday evening but it was just a week too late with the soft ground. It should work fine as he's a lovely horse and there should be plenty of lads for him."
Other lots to catch the eye are Colin Bowe's Borris House maiden winner Gold Emery (2), a Doctor Dino half-brother to Punchestown Grade 1-winning novice hurdler Cilaos Emery, and Cormac Farrell's Jet Powered (5), another who won at Borris on Sunday and a Jet Away gelding from the family of Grade 2-winning chaser Westerner Lady.
Tattersalls will not be the only sales company with an online auction taking place on Thursday, with Arqana offering shares and breeding rights in Zarak, Zelzal, Al Wukair, Territories and Masked Marvel.
The sale will start at 10am and will close from midday.
