A lifetime breeding right to sensational young sire Havana Grey will be offered at the Tattersalls Online December Sale along with Casuarina, the full-sister to last month’s Group 1 Caulfield Cup winner Durston.

Following the recent sale of a breeding right to Havana Grey for 115,000gns on the platform, the Tattersalls Online December Sale will provide yet another opportunity to secure access to one of Europe’s most exciting young stallions.

The son of Havana Gold, who stands at Whitsbury Manor Stud, has had a phenomenal start to his stud career, highlighted by 13 individual Group/Listed performers, and boasts a staggering 45 per cent winners to runners percentage.

The success of his first crop has seen his fee increase to £18,500 for the 2023 breeding season. The rare opportunity to purchase a breeding right at this point in the young stallion’s career is set to attract widespread interest from aspiring breeders.

Also confirmed for the Tattersalls Online December Online Sale is Casuarina, a full-sister to Highclere Thoroughbreds’ Group 1 Caulfield Cup winner Durston.

Consigned by Hobby Horse Stud, she is a half-sister to champion older German mare and dual Group 3 winner Cubanita, herself a granddaughter of Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks winner and Irish Oaks third Key Change.

Bred by Kirsten Rausing’s Lanwades Stud, the four-year-old daughter of Sea The Moon will be offered in foal on her maiden cover to Group 1 French Derby winner Study Of Man, the only son of the internationally renowned Deep Impact standing at stud in Britain.

Other early entries include Group 2 Lowther Stakes winner Infamous Angel. The daughter of Exceed And Excel is the grandam of the Group 3 winning Poptronic and will be offered in foal to Classic-producing sire Aclaim.

She will be offered alongside First Destinity, who is a Listed-placed half-sister to Group 1 winner and Tweenhills’ resident sire Lightning Spea.

The Tattersalls Online platform is leading the way in thoroughbred online auctions in Europe. The November Online Sale grossed 551,500gns and was topped by the aforementioned lifetime breeding right to Havana Grey purchased by Badgers Bloodstock.

The international appeal of the Tattersalls Online platform was highlighted by French Listed performer Royal Robbins. He attracted the interest of Australian trainer Matthew Smith, who secured the exciting prospect for 105,000gns.

The Tattersalls Online December Sale will include a selection of breeding rights, mares, foals, horses in training and yearlings. Entries can be submitted on the Tattersalls Online website and will remain open until Friday, December 2. The full catalogue will be available on the Tattersalls Online website on Thursday, December 8.
