Discount of 25 per cent on Aclaim offered to breeders who produce a filly
Stallion is in his third season at the National Stud

Aclaim, the Prix de la Foret winner who is standing his third season at the National Stud, has had his payment terms tweaked for the forthcoming breeding season.
Already on live foal terms, his owners, the Aclaim Partnership, are now offering a substantial reduction on the contracted price for breeders who produce a filly. His fee for 2020 was announced at £9,500.
Mark McStay of Avenue Bloodstock, who is managing the son of Acclamation, said: "We well understand the pressures on the commercial breeder.
"Last year, we moved to live foal terms and this season – even though Aclaim has had filly foals sell very well – we are offering anyone who breeds a filly a 25 per cent discount on their contracted price. I would urge mare owners to call us to discuss their mares and our prices and terms as they are sure to find a sympathetic ear."
Aclaim, who won his only start at two for Martyn Meade before picking up the Challenge Stakes at three, went on to take the Park Stakes before rounding off his career with his big Paris win on Arc day.
By the sire of Dark Angel from the family of Montjeu, he was sent more mares in his first season than any other first-season Flat stallion in Britain and he has covered 253 mares in his first two books.
"Aclaim has been tremendously well-supported," added McStay. "And breeders have been rewarded with great-looking stock who are also inheriting his bombproof demeanour, which served him so well in training.
"We were pleased with how well his foals sold, including a €120,000 colt at Goffs, with lots of the top foal buyers getting involved. It's not often that a third-season sire can be described as a safe bet, but – with his looks, speed, pedigree and youngstock – Aclaim might just be the exception."
