Mildenberger dam joins elite broodmare offerings at London Sale

Belle Josephine, the dam of Listed winner Mildenberger, has become the latest elite breeding stock offering to be added to the Goffs London Sale, which takes place on the eve of Royal Ascot this month.

The ten-year-old mare will be offered in foal to Haras de Bonneval's leading young sire Siyouni, who covered mares at a career-high fee of €75,000 this year, and will be consigned by Salcey Forest Stud.

A dual winner, Belle Josephine is also the dam of the winning Berengaria and has a Pivotal foal at foot who will not be offered at the sale.

Mildenberger was last seen finishing second to Roaring Lion in the Dante Stakes last month and the Mark Johnston-trained colt is likely to head to the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot as his next assignment.

His dam is a Dubawi half-sister to Listed winner Marsh Daisy and her second dam is the Meon Valley Stud mare Bella Colora, while further back the outstanding Reprocolor is on the page.

Daniel Creighton, bloodstock adviser to owner John Dance, said: "She comes from a great broodmare line developed by Meon Valley, which works well with Pivotal and as such Siyouni should be an exciting cover for her. She is a particularly good-looking mare by Dubawi and a proven broodmare with her exciting son Mildenberger."

Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby added: "Belle Josephine is an outstanding addition to the breeding-stock section of the London Sale catalogue which also features Landikusic, the sister to Zoffany and Rostropovich in foal to Frankel, and the Group 1-winning Miss Beatrix."

A strong catalogue of 22 horses in training will be up for grabs at the London Sale with 19 of the lots available holding entries throughout Royal Ascot.

Impressive debut maiden winner K Club is one such prospect on offer as the Richard Hannon-trained daughter of Kodiac currently holds an entry for the Queen Mary Stakes.

Other eye-catchers include Andre Amar, the son of Dandy Man who was second to Sergei Prokofiev in the Rochestown Stakes and is entered in the Norfolk and the Windsor Castle Stakes.

Beeby added: "With just over a week to go until the fifth renewal of the Goffs London Sale, we're delighted with the current list of entries and expect to announce some further wildcards over the coming days. The depth and versatility of the entries, both breeding stock and horses in training, means there is something for everyone.
