A Kingman half-sister to this weekend's Dewhurst Stakes winner Chaldean is among a stellar catalogue for the Tattersalls December Foal Sale, an auction that includes 153 foals by the current top 15 active British and Irish sires.

Taking place at Park Paddocks from November 23 to 26, the sale also features full and half-brothers and sisters to 161 Group and Listed winners, including 11 Group 1 winners, many hoping they can follow in the hoofprints of Blackbeard and Chaldean.

This year's Middle Park and Dewhurst Stakes winners both sold at the December Foal Sale in 2020, when offered by Norelands and Whitsbury Manor Studs.

Among the leading sires with foals being sold are Dark Angel, Dubawi, Frankel, Kingman, Kodiac, Lope De Vega, Mehmas, Nathaniel, Night Of Thunder, No Nay Never, Oasis Dream, Sea The Stars and Showcasing.

One of the highlights of the sale is Whitsbury Manor Stud's Kingman half-sister to Dewhurst scorer Chaldean (lot 1025). Her top-class half-brother sold to Juddmonte for 550,000gns from the sale in 2020.

Sent into training with Andrew Balding, the chestnut son of Frankel has notched up a four-timer including wins in the Acomb Stakes, the Chamagne Stakes and the showpiece juvenile Group 1 at Newmarket on Saturday.

The pair are out of the prolific Dutch Art mare Suelita, whose progeny also include Mill Reef Stakes scorer and young sire Alkumait, Listed winner The Broghie Man and stakes-placed pair Get Ahead and Gloves Lynch.

Other notables include Hyde Park Stud's Mehmas half-brother to 1,000 Guineas heroine Cachet (1033); St Simon Stud's Lope De Vega half-brother to St Leger winner Eldar Eldarov (1027); Clara Stud's Wootton Bassett half-sibling to Commonwealth Cup scorer Golden Horde (982); and Fittocks Stud's Kingman half to Nassau Stakes victress Lady Bowthorpe (1011).

Another foal with a big recent update is Acorn Stud's Invincible Army half-brother to last month's Cheveley Park Stakes winner Lezoo, who will be offered as lot 1013, while Yellowford Farm sells a Sea The Stars half-sister (1052) to the hugely exciting Mill Reef Stakes winner Sakheer.

Foals out of top racemares include Ashbrittle Stud's Too Darn Hot colt out of Oaks heroine Talent (1030), Tweenhills Farm's Kitten's Joy colt out of St Leger winner Simple Verse (1078), and Newsells Park Stud's Saxon Warrior filly out of Group 1 scorer Sultanina, already named Crepe Suzette (777).

Reigning champion sire Frankel, responsible for the top four lots at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale last week, has nine foals in the sale including the half-sister to Queen Anne Stakes winner Accidental Agent (1051). She will be sold by Trinity Park Stud.

First-crop sires set to feature include Circus Maximus, Earthlight, Ghaiyyath, Golden Horde, Hello Youmzain, Honor A.P., Kameko, King Of Change, Mohaather, Persian King, Pinatubo, River Boyne, Sands Of Mali, Sottsass and Without Parole.

Richard Kent’s Mickley Stud has the largest consignment with 54 foals, while Genesis Green Stud, leading consignor at the event last year, has a team of seven.

Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: "The Tattersalls December Foal Sale has enjoyed a banner year, with Group 1-winning two-year-old colts Chaldean and Blackbeard burnishing its reputation as the showcase for the cream of the British and Irish foal crop.

"As well as consistent racecourse success, the Tattersalls December Foal Sale has been the source of spectacular pinhooking triumphs and we have some truly outstanding foals catalogued this year, with the quality and diversity to appeal to buyers from throughout the world at all levels of the market."
