Few horses manage to win a Listed race on their racecourse debut, even if their breeding might give them a helping hand.

Born With Pride, who carried the Tsui family’s yellow and purple silks, a livery made famous by the mighty Sea The Stars and Sea Of Class, has the bloodlines to assist her progress on the track and she certainly proved it in the at Newmarket.

Bred by the Tsuis’ Sunderland Holdings, she is out of the Monsun mare Jumooh who is related to the 1,000 Guineas winner Ghanaati and changed hands for €450,000 at Arqana in December 2011.

Many of her progeny have been colts, sold through Mount Coote Stud to make quite an impression on the track.

They include Bahrain Trophy winner Raheen House, currently in Australia but disappointing in a Melbourne Cup prep, and Shraaoh, formerly of Sir Michael Stoute but a winner of the Group 1 Sydney Cup for Chris Waller.

Sea Of Faith, a daughter of Sea The Stars kept in Sunderland ownership, was similarly highly tried by William Haggas but recorded a valuable victory for future breeding at Salisbury in August.

Haggas is also the recipient of Born With Pride, a daughter of the same owners’ Born To Sea, who was second in the Irish Derby and has four crops of racing age. This year he moved to Haras des Faunes from Gilltown Stud.

The stallion’s best performer to date was another smart operator for Haggas and Sunderland, Sea Of Grace, who struck at Group 3 level and finished second in the French Guineas.

After her 20-1 upset with a game performance to make most of the mile on heavy ground, his latest daughter ought to have a bright future too.

Earlier on the Rowley Mile, Kenzai Warrior gave his sire Karakontie a first Group success as he maintained his unbeaten record for Roger Teal in the rescheduled Heath Court Hotel Horris Hill Stakes.

The juvenile had become the Gainesway-based stallion's first British winner at Salisbury a few weeks ago, while he had managed a maiden black-type victory back in the US though Karak, who appeared for Wesley Ward at Royal Ascot.
