Starting pistol fired for European studs as Lanwades releases 2023 fees
Lanwades Stud in Newmarket, the base of owner-breeder Kirsten Rausing, has fired the gun in Europe as far as 2023 stallion fees is concerned.
However, both 11-year-old Sea The Moon, sire of recent Group 1 Caulfield Cup winner Durston, and seven-year-old Study Of Man, who will have his first runners next year, remain unchanged for 2023.
Sea The Moon's fee stays at £25,000, while Classic hero Study Of Man will again be available for £12,500.
The 11-year-old Bobby's Kitten, always in the mind at this time of year given his success at the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita in 2014, has had his fee cut to £6,000 from £7,000.
The stud's four-strong offering is completed by Derby winner Sir Percy, 19, whose fee is given as private for 2023.
Stud owner Rausing and her staff have enjoyed a marvellous year, and her star performer, the Arc heroine Alpinista, remains on course to try to crown it all with a victory in the Japan Cup, a formidable but exciting challenge for any set of European connections.
