Rivalry between siblings is as old as civilisation, and in the bloodstock world the natural competitiveness between sires is amplified when a stallion line dominates.

Galileo's incomparable record at stud ensured his best sons and grandsons were prized breeding prospects and found berths at stud farms around Europe, in particular. With almost a century of Group 1 winners and counting for Coolmore's breed-shaping stallion, that creates a lot of stallions competing for many of the same mares.
