Biggest July Sale since 2008 as 910 mixed lots are catalogued
Covering sires featured include Kodiac, Nathaniel, Intello and Shalaa
Tattersalls has released the entries for what looks set to be a bumper renewal of the July Sale, with 910 lots due to come under the hammer across the three-day auction that begins on Wednesday July 12.
The catalogue comprises 747 horses and fillies in and out of training and 163 broodmares, ten of which have foals at foot. Leading owner-breeders Cheveley Park Stud, Godolphin, Juddmonte and Shadwell are due to be represented by almost 200 lots between them.
Among the notable entries are three-time Group 1 winner Dylan Mouth (Lot 843) and Ballymacoll Stud's high-class Arab Spring (826), a dual Group 3-winning son of Monsun. The 163 broodmares on offer include lots with coverings from proven sires such as Kodiac, Iffraaj, Exceed And Excel, Lope De Vega, Lawman, Nathaniel and Teofilo, while new additions to the stallion ranks like Dawn Approach, Intello, New Bay, Pride Of Dubai, and Shalaa also feature among the extensive list of covering sires.
Commenting on the 2017 July Sale catalogue, Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: "Last year's July Sale achieved record turnover which will be a hard act to follow, but we have catalogued more than 900 lots for this year's sale, and as well as being the largest July Sale since 2008, it is a catalogue of real quality and diversity.
"The July Sale is a consistent source of Group 1 performers and producers and the unique formula of quality breeding stock combined with high-class horses in training looks set to attract the usual mix of domestic and international buyers."
