It may only have been a five-runner Class 6 maiden handicap that Hazely landed, but the manner of the success suggests she can run up a little sequence this summer off an eyecatching low rating.

The daughter of Cape Cross qualified for handicaps on a plater’s mark following a trio of defeats in maiden company last year over inadequate trips.
