York Placepot tips: Paul Kealy provides his perm on day two of the Ebor festival
There probably isn't a great deal of hope in getting out of the frame for Placepot purposes at York (1.50), but stranger things have happened, so , the each-way value in the race, is added as back-up just in case.
I'm pretty warm on the chances of Shouldvebeenaringin the sales race (2.25), but he is 4-1 for a reason, so I'll add another one there too.
ran pretty well from a mark of 90 when fifth of 16 at Goodwood and that makes him one of the top form contenders for Alice Haynes, who is having a tidy second year in the training ranks.
and are the two I've backed in the next (3.00), but I'll also add who, like Revich, wasn't beaten far from a terrible draw in the Golden Mile.
Only seven go in the Yorkshire Oaks (3.35), but although the betting has an open look, has not been out of the first two for two years on ground ranging from firm to soft and has won four Group 1s in a row, so I'm happy to bank on her.
The Galtres (4.10) is also open, but looks a worthy favourite and goes in with the improving . I have had an each-way stab on Luna Dorada, but I'm not sure she's Placepot material.
In the last (4.45) did too much too soon over Beverley's stiff 7½f last time and looks perfect for this track, while , tried in Group 2 company at Royal Ascot, may leave a mark of 88 well behind.

Today is a World Pool day and the Tote Betting Tournament is on at York where punters can increase their winnings on the Tote bets they’ve already had by entering the opt-in ‘Beat Benson’ tournament.
The additional Daily Prize Pool is shared between the players who make a bigger profit than the Tote’s Jamie Benson on the day. To enter you need to place three £10 bets of any type with the Tote, and if 1,000 people opt in then the pool will stand at £10,000.
With the World Pool at York, the Swinger pool on most races will likely be around the £1,000,000 mark and would give a good chance of hiking up the tournament rankings.
Our pick for the Swinger is in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks (3.35), where Alpinista looks certain to finish in the first three and rates banker material. Put her in with the French raider Raclette, who is open to plenty of further improvement on her second run at this trip.
