Worth taking on market leader in red-hot contest at Newmarket

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

Waldstern
1.50 Newmarket
SP forecast 9-4

Impressive despite looking in need of the experience when winning on his debut on the July course in August but turned over at 4-7 by Kadar (runs 2.25) in a novice event at Haydock last month. Time will probably tell us that he had a tough task attempting to concede 9lb to that rival and he pulled nicely clear of the third. He is related to last week’s Arc fourth Waldgeist, so the step up to 1m2f is likely to suit.

Conclusion Sound claims, but has a bit to find with Sydney Opera House on form and is opposable at the forecast price.
