Wincanton Placepot tips: Robbie Wilders serves up an eight-line combination
Wincanton seems the logical place to have a crack at the Placepot as I fancy a couple at short prices to be turned over.
The opening 3m1f handicap chase (2.00) is wide open and I'll pin my colours to Oscar Robertson, whose only blip recently has been on soft ground, and Shanty Alley, who has returned to a decent mark after a couple of below-par efforts.
I expect a big run from Briery Express on her second appearance after a long layoff in the next (2.35). Hay There Mona rates another who could go well on her second start for Harry Fry.
Maliboo could be vulnerable in the novice handicap chase (3.10) to Eclair On Line, whose third at this track last time has been franked by both the first and second.
Could Talkaboutit has improved with each start and his staying-on second to Doctor Parnassus last time reads well. He is banked on in the 2m3½f maiden hurdle (3.45).
There isn't much recent form on offer in the 2m3½f handicap hurdle (4.20), and Wetanwindy and River Tyne seem like two who will run their race. They are included.
The final leg (4.55) can go the way of Flowing Cadenza. She was an easy winner of an 18-runner race from the front last time and is not terribly treated off 7lb higher.
