Wetherby Placepot picks: Tom Collins provides his 12-line Wednesday perm

A trappy four-runner novice chase (12.45) is far from an ideal start to the Wetherby Placepot and caution is advised. Believe me, it gets easier!

Although I was tempted to click the 'all' button, bottomweight Near Kettering doesn't have the same level of form as the others and is tentatively left out. Instead, stick with Away At Dawn, Trooper Turnbull and Burrows Diamond.

There isn't much jumps form in the following juvenile maiden hurdle (1.15), but the most interesting runners in the field are Moulins Clermont and Tarseem, who took plenty of money on their respective British debuts.

Likely favourite Oscar Robertson has to give plenty of weight to his rivals in the 3m handicap chase (1.45) and should be opposed with Archie Brown and Thelongwayaround, both of whom appear well handicapped on their return from long absences.

caught the eye on his hurdling debut and looks banker material in the 2m novice event (2.20), while the consistent (2.50) should get you to the last leg.

Numerous Placepot perms have fallen short in the closing bumper over the years, but this 2m mares' contest (3.20) looks at the mercy of Fergal O'Brien and it's hard to imagine Aintree fifth Peerless Beauty finishing out of the frame.
