Weld team can end big day on winning note with Sikandarabad

WHATEVER the fate of Harzand in an absorbing Qipco Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown today, Sikandarabad can end the card on a winning note for the Aga Khan and the Rosewell House team in the Sovereign Path Handicap (7.20).

Sikandarabad comes from the family of another horse who carried the famous colours to victory at Epsom and the Curragh, the mighty Sinndar.

After one appearance at two, the Dr Fong gelding was produced in good order to win a maiden at the Galway festival and was then sent in against more battle-hardened opponents in the Irish Cambridgeshire at the Curragh just under a fortnight ago.
