Sir Pass I Am’s hugely impressive win at Chepstow last Tuesday suggests he has made significant improvement from three to four, and a 6lb penalty won’t stop him if in the same form.

The manner in which he quickened away from some admittedly exposed opponents at the Welsh track really took the eye, and Andrew Balding’s stayer looks one to follow.
