Trainer: Ger Lyons
5th, 7f two-year-old maiden, Dundalk, December 7
There have been some potentially good-quality juvenile maidens at Dundalk in the closing weeks of the year, and this 7f contest last Friday might have been significant. It was won impressively by a horse who will be given some good entries next year, and quite a few of those in behind look like future winners.

This colt by Elzaam is of particular interest as he effectively forfeited his chance when slowly away. He was green, took time to pick up when initially asked and didn’t get a particularly clear run. However, from more than a furlong out he ran on well to finish strongly. He is a colt capable of finding significant improvement.

There is only one more maiden over this trip for the rest of the year, so it may well be 2019 before we see him again. He looks capable of winning at least a maiden.
