Warwick Placepot picks: Paul Kealy goes for a big perm at small-stakes

It's going to be a fair slog at Warwick, with plenty of rain due to fall on ground that is already heavy.

Therefore, I reckon the two with the best hopes of handling conditions in the opener (12.40) and getting us through in the Placepot are top pair and .

The former is totally unexposed and bred for the job, while the latter seems to be improving and will stay further.

In the second (1.15), I'll oppose favourite Haddex Des Obeaux given the way some of Gary Moore's horses have run over the past week.

The veteran and heavy-ground winner look the best options.

I genuinely wouldn't rule any of the four out of the third (1.50), and can certainly see the case for outsider , so they're all going into a small-stakes perm.

Again, you could make a case for all of them in the next (2.25), but I'll go with and , who finished first and second here in November.

The latter is an outsider and has some ground to make up but has won since, has no issues with heavy ground and represents an in-form trainer.

The Willie Mullins-trained Mr Incredible is bottom of my list for the Classic Chase (3.00) at the prices. My three are 2021 winner , and and , neither of whom will worry about conditions.

The finale (3.35) is the least appealing betting heat on the card as you can pick holes in everything.

The Irish old-stagers ran really poorly last time, so I'll go with recent soft-ground winner and rank outsider , who has won here and is 3-4 on heavy ground.

That's a big enough perm, but don't forget you can bet to as little as a penny unit stake on the Tote app, so stakes can be tailored to suit your budget.
