Veteran chaser can cash in on fair handicap mark at Kelso

He doesn't win too often, but Harry The Viking has run some really game races in the two seasons he has been with Sandy Thomson and the handicapper is giving him a real chance to get off the mark for his current trainer, writes Paul Kealy.

He joined Thomson with a mark of 119 having been on the slide for Paul Nicholls, but was rated 136 at the end of the 2014-15 season, the pick of his efforts being a second to The Last Samuri at Kelso.

On his best form at this time last year, his second to Rigadin De Beauchene off 128 reads well in the context of this race and he ran a cracker on his return when second at Carlisle to a horse who ran a close second off his 9lb higher mark next time.
