Vegas could net us a fortune in Connacht Oaks at Sligo

Coping with testing conditions will be crucial at Sligo this evening and Lagostovegas can march merrily through the mud to land the Connacht Oaks (8.30).

The presence of Ringside Humour means half of the field are running from out of the handicap but Lagostovegas runs off 76, the same mark she finished seventh off in the Connacht Hotel Handicap at Galway on Monday last week, and her love for heavy ground makes her the best bet on the card.

All three of her previous wins have been with soft in the going description and the best effort of her career to date, when third to Triumph Hurdle winner Ivanovich Gorbatov and Let's Dance in a Leopardstown maiden hurdle, was on heavy ground.
