US racing tips: Tom Collins has three strong fancies at Belmont and Santa Anita

Firenze Fire
10.36 Belmont Park

Authentic
12.09 Santa Anita
3pts win
We are set for a phenomenal evening of action in the US with three Grade 1 contests (two at Santa Anita, one at Belmont Park) as well as numerous other Graded and stakes races. It would be folly to miss it.
The feature on the first Saturday of the Belmont Park meeting is the $250,000 Grade 1 Runhappy Carter Handicap (10.36) and it looks to be a wide-open affair with plenty of value on offer.
Four-year-old colts Performer, Mind Control and Vekoma will take a lot of money as their exploits last year were pretty impressive, but the latter-named duo are drawn out wide and Performer hasn't been seen for nearly seven months, so I'm happy to oppose that trio.
The one to be with is Firenze Fire, who will be making his first start for trainer Kelly Breen, is drawn well in gate one and gets the assistance of Manny Franco.
Franco has only ridden one winner from 16 rides since Wednesday, but he is exquisite at the track (won the top rider title at the meeting in September) and just hasn't had the best mounts so far. That changes here.
Firenze Fire is a supremely consistent five-year-old who has won ten races, including his last three, from 24 career starts. His cruising speed is second to none and he should get the perfect stalking trip against the rail in this field.
He isn't the most resolute in a battle, but what he lacks in grit he doesn't lack in a turn of foot. His latest scores at Aqueduct and Laurel Park were impressive and he has worked well ahead of this coveted prize.
The remainder of the Belmont card looks to be all about trainer Chad Brown, who should be entering the winner's circle on a number of occasions. He has four with a chance in the Fort Marcy Stakes (8.59), two in the Westchester Stakes (9.32) and the top four in the betting for the Grade 3 Intercontinental Stakes (10.04).
The last-named contest is the most interesting from a punting perspective as there isn't much splitting his inmates on their morning line prices, but this race is going to work out perfectly for Significant Form and I can't see how she loses if she can get across from a wide draw.
A five-time winner from 13 starts and the mount of John Velasquez, Significant Form defied a seven-month break to win this race last year despite a torrid trip. She only found a gap inside the final furlong but showed excellent gears to quicken up and win cosily.
She has won two of her four subsequent outings and you can put a line through her latest effort in the Matriarch Stakes at Del Mar in December.
She broke poorly, was forced to check early on and had to pass near enough every rival on a day when there was a significant pace bias. Her recent works have been strong.
Much like Brown will dominate the Belmont stakes races, Bob Baffert should do the same at Santa Anita. His $3.65 million purchase Cezanne makes his debut (11.03), but Baffert's main hope will be Authentic in the Santa Anita Derby (12.09).
He will go off a short-priced favourite but he has by far the best form in this Kentucky Derby trial and comfortably beat main rival Honor A. P. last time despite stumbling at the start. He's a banker bet to make all.
