Tylicki looks a significant booking for Costa Filey

Ed Vaughan and Freddie Tylicki team up 6.30 Windsor

Given Tylicki has ridden 14 winners from just 49 mounts for Vaughan in the last five seasons, it looks significant he partners the trainer's Costa Filey for the first time.

The five-year-old hasn't been the easiest to predict and ran a stinker at Kempton on his latest start. However, that was more than a month ago, suggesting he wasn't quite right, and he is probably better judged on his previous effort when third in a 0-80 at Sandown on his reappearance. That was arguably a career-best effort.

Although he is still 7lb higher than for his last win, Costa Filey runs off 1lb lower than at Sandown in what is a weaker race. He is versatile ground-wise, so the forecast rain shouldn't affect his chance, and the yard is in much better form than it was when he last ran (0-9 in June; 4-11 in July).

Snap Shots bids to go one better than last year 3.45 Ripon

Tom Dascombe's gelding was beaten half a length off a mark of 93 in this 6f handicap 12 months ago, and although on the face of it he isn't coming into the race in as good form as last year he probably shaped better than his last two finishing positions suggest.

Three outings ago he was impressive when winning from the front at Haydock when cheekpieces were reapplied. Surprisingly, given how strong he was at the finish that day, he was dropped to 5f next time at Chester and could never go the pace after a slow start, although he was staying on at the death.

Kept to the minimum trip at Newmarket last time, the son of Kodiac was badly bumped at the start and ended up racing towards what was probably the unfavoured far rail.
