Antartica De Thaix
Trainer: Paul Nicholls
2nd, Sandown, December 2

This mare could have a bright future over fences as this was a really encouraging chase debut. Apart from a mistake at the third, her jumping was foot perfect at a challenging course for an inexperienced chaser. She looked the most likely winner for much of the 2m4f contest and was only passed close home by the more patiently ridden winner Pilgrims Bay. Antartica De Thaix was carried slightly left by the winner on the run-in and rallied once headed to reduce the gap to just a head at the finish. She should stay 3m and acts on testing ground.
