The main event might not be quite as good a race as in previous years but the supporting cast on Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe day at Chantilly is as strong as I can remember.

However, that provides a problem for value seekers because on all known form So Mi Dar, Mecca’s Angel and Limato stand head and shoulders above their Group 1 opposition.

Anyone taking on any of them will have to hope they underperform in a big way or meet traffic problems.
