Paul Nicholls has made a fantastic start to the jumps season and has loads of good chances today including two classy hurdlers in the William Hill Handicap Hurdle at Ascot (3.00).

Modus was second in the Champion Bumper at the festival last year and Diego Du Charmil won last season's Fred Winter, which tells you all you need to know about the standard of this race, but I think Nicholls might have to play second fiddle to a couple of his former assistants.

Dan Skelton trains the favourite Ch'tibello, and if he's in the same form that saw him win an extremely competitive Scottish Champion Hurdle back in April then he will be hard to beat.
