Tom Segal with four bankers in Goodwood Placepot perm

Andrew Balding has four good chances in the Placepot races at Goodwood and at least two of them are worth banking on.

The first is Ndaawi in the opening maiden (1.15) as he shaped with great promise on his debut at Newmarket and the Balding newcomers usually improve for a run.

In the feature race, the Weatherbys Stallion Book Supreme Stakes (3.35), Balding saddles Happy Power, who won this race two years ago and was beaten less than two lengths in a Group 2 at the Glorious meeting last time. Double Or Bubble is dangerous but she is best on quick ground.

The Balding runner, Speak, in the three-runner City of Chichester Fillies' Handicap (4.10) has a good chance too, so she has to go in after her good effort at Chester last time. However, the other two runners, Peripatetic and Suzy's Shoes, have similar claims and I reckon the safest option is to put all three in.

William Haggas wouldn't have too many runners in sellers (2.25) and Just A Tad wouldn't be working with Baaeed very often! She has won a couple of races, though, and should prove a class above her opposition.

The two Class 2 handicaps are competitive despite the small fields and all six have claims in the William Hill Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap (1.50).

Course specialist Atalanta's Boy is on a fair mark on his debut for Martin Smith but he can miss the break, so I suggest sticking in Indian Creak as well, as he also goes well here.

Finally, Paradias ran a cracker in a good race behind Caius Chorister last time and that one went on to finish second in the Melrose. The handicapper stuck Paradias up 6lb for that but he should still be extremely competitive in the William Hill Handicap (3.00).
