Tom Segal with a couple of bankers in tricky Wolverhampton Placepot perm

It's great that the all-weather comes to the rescue when the weather is like it is, but a Placepot full of low-quality handicaps at Wolverhampton is never going to be easy to solve.

The opening division of the 0-55 handicap (12.40) is a case in point but Eldelbar is consistent and looks an ideal Placepot horse. It could be worth throwing in Vitesse Du Son, who is relatively unexposed and broke his duck over course and distance last time.

The second division (1.10) could be easier because Velvet Vista bolted up at Chelmsford recently. She has to go in, but she was the beneficiary of an overly strong pace on that occasion and that is not certain here.

Consequently, I would put in Viola Park too as he's dropped back to a good mark and is reunited with David Probert, who won twice on him at this track in 2019.

There is a danger of any perm getting out of hand given the competitiveness of the handicaps so it's best to have a couple of bankers and Universal Effect fits that bill (1.40).

She was impressive over course and distance last time and will surely hit the frame if repeating that performance.

The other banker is Mutarabes in the maiden (3.10) as he shaped well in a good maiden on his sole start and should be a different class to his four rivals.

Tanqeeb might also be a class above in the 1m4f handicap (2.10), although he's got to prove he stays the trip so the well-treated Man Of Verve, who has shaped as if he was running back into form of late, is worth chancing too.

The 5f sprint (2.40) looks impossible but there are lots of hold up horses in the field and Alsvinder might be able to dominate from a low draw. You're Cool always runs well here and should do so again.
