Tom Segal thinks it's worth taking on an odds-on favourite at Ascot

L'Homme Presse has all the potential in the world and might well end up being Britain's best shot at winning the Gold Cup in March but there are plenty of reasons to take him on at a very short price in the Chanelle Pharma 1965 Chase at Ascot (2.05).

To start with all his best form is on softer ground and he jumped badly out to his left the only time he's run at Ascot. Venetia Williams hasn't had a winner so far this season but the most pertinent point is that he is taking on a horse in Saint Calvados that it could be argued has better form.
