Tom Segal suggests three bankers at Perth for his placepot perm
Gordon Elliott has a near 50 per cent strike-rate at Perth this season and five of his runners on the card have to be considered for Placepot purposes.
It's hard to see his Enki Flacke being beaten in the opener (1.45) and he has to be banked on, while Hermann Clermont ran well over 2m here last time and looks sure to appreciate the step up to 3m in the novice chase (2.20).
Given the latter has to prove he stays, it is worth sticking Castletown in too. He ran well in a better race over course and distance last time.
The Elliott runner Keepthefaithinme has shot up in the weights for his easy win at Perth last time, but there should be more to come from him in the handicap hurdle (2.55).
He can be relied on but in the following handicap chase (3.30) the Elliott-trained Quantum Realm won a weak race at Downpatrick last time and is worth taking on.
Given there are only four runners, it's safest to put in both Floating Rock, who impressed at Hexham last time, and Planned Paradise, who is in good form too.
Miss Amelia and Fearless stand out in the Perth Silver Cup (4.05), especially as last year's winner, Ming Dynasty, was pulled up on the Flat recently.
The final leg of the Placepot, the handicap hurdle (4.40), is a weak race and the safest choice is No Fixed Charges, who ran well in first-time cheekpieces last time.
