Tom Segal doesn't think too many lines will be needed to land Redcar Placepot

Credit: Edward Whitaker

There are plenty of runners at Redcar, but not many can be fancied in the six Placepot races and I don't think a large perm is required.

Hello Girl (12.15) is by no means a good thing under a penalty but she's in form and will be hard to keep out of the frame, while My Kinda Day is unexposed and will be suited by dropping back to 5f in the next.

Roger Varian has a fancied newcomer in the fillies' novice (1.15) but she might take up a lot of lines and most won't have any clue how good she is, so I would rather opt for the experience of Signora Princess and the well-bred Night Of Romance.

Saint Lawrence is the form horse in the 7f maiden (1.45) but I wonder whether he will relish the ground. Consequently it may be best to put in Mister Allegro as well in case he blows out.

The final two legs can go to Confide (2.15), who was impressive over course and distance on his belated debut and Gold Zabeel (2.45), who was unlucky in a good maiden on his sole start.

12.15 1 Hello Girl

12.45 7 My Kinda Day

1.15 3 Night Of Romance, 7 Signora Princess

1.45 4 Mister Allegro, 5 Saint Lawrence

2.15 1 Confide

2.45 3 Gold Zabeel

Tote Placepot £1 x 4 lines = £4
